There will be a 10% restocking fee on returned items and shipping will not be reimbursed. Please contact us via email for specific instructions to return product. Can you recycle the empty can? The inside of our cans is coated and the can cannot be recycled. However, our paint itself is safe for the environment.

How do I obtain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)? Please email us with the product you need an MSDS for: Simply Spray, Stencil Spray, Upholstery Paint or Spray Blood.

Where do I find spray adhesive? You can find this item in the glue aisle at your local craft store

How much paint do I need for my project? This is a difficult question and our best answer for this is to test in an inconspicuous area to see how absorbent the material is. All material is different and some material absorb more than others. Some also require more than one coat to cover.

Is Simply Spray safe for children? YES! Our products are safe for everyone. They are non-toxic & non-flammable! Although it is an aerosol, it does not contain ANY harsh ingredients or inhalants! Its secret formula is safe and conforms to ASTM-D 4236!

I do not hear the ball moving in my can of paint, is there something wrong? The ball is not a necessary component of the product. Although the ball does help to mix the paint as you shake, you will get the same results shaking the can without the ball. If you really want to hear the ball, you can lightly tap the can on something and the ball should drop- if it doesn’t, it will not affect the performance of the product.

Is it safe to use around pets? Simply Spray is safe to use on fabrics that will be in contact with your pet, such as a pet bed. We do not recommend that you spray the paint on your pet or near your pet.

What happens if I get paint on my skin? You can wash Simply Spray off your skin with regular soap, water and a little help from a washcloth. If you wash your hands immediately after using, the paint should come off with little effort. Stencil Spray is thicker and may can be more difficult to remove depending on how much is on your hands. You can also use fingernail polish remover with acetone to help remove.

Should I wear gloves when I use the paint? Sometimes wearing gloves can cause more of a problem than you would think…. The paint will not absorb into the glove and will transfer onto your project. We usually don’t wear gloves for Simply Spray or Stencil Spray. If you are using Upholstery Paint and need to rub the paint into your material, you might want to wear gloves.

Can I use this product indoors or does it have strong fumes? Our paint is non-toxic, non-flammable and has no fume odors. The propellant in the can is very safe and is the same propellant used with food, such as whip cream. The propellant is odorless. Occasionally you may smell a faint paint odor if you are using a large number of cans indoors. If you have sensitivities, you should use the product in a ventilated area to be on the safe side. You should also protect your work area- the paint is permanent.

What is the difference between Simply Spray and Stencil Spray? Simply Spray is a soft paint that blends in with the fabric so you can’t feel it when it is dry. Stencil Spray is a thick paint that sits on top of the fabric and feels like silkscreen when dry.

If I open and use my Simply Spray can, how should I store it to reuse at a later date? We strongly recommend that you use the product in its entirety after the first opening. You will get the best results if you use it all at once. If you set it aside and try to spray it again, paint could dry in the valve. You should store any opened cans upside-down in water so that the trigger is completely submerged.

I accidentally got some Simply Spray on my clothing while I was using it, what can I do? Well, one of the great things about Simply Spray is that it is permanent on your project. But when you accidentally get Simply Spray on your clothes it is also permanent…you want to wash them asap! You should wash your clothes using liquid fabric softener because fabric softener breaks down the pigment in the paint. There’s no magical solution to remove the paint from clothing, all material is different, so you just need to keep washing them. Put soap directly on the paint and scrub using a wash cloth for friction.

I am planning to use Simply Spray outside, will it ruin my grass if I get paint on it? We always recommend that you cover your work area. Simply Spray is not harmful if you get some on your grass, but it should be avoided. It will change the color of your grass temporarily. Simply Spray should wash off your grass when the next rain passes by.

What happens if I get Simply Spray on my deck or cement? We always recommend that you cover your work area. Simply Spray will soak into your deck or cement and can be difficult to remove. You should wash the area with a steel brush and strong cleaner that won’t harm your surface.

How long do I have to wait between colors before I can spray the next color? You do not need to wait for the paint to dry before applying your next color. Keep in mind that if the paint is wet from the first color and you touch it, then immediately try to twist in another area…you might transfer the first color from your hands to that area.

How do I stop the paint from leaking through to the back of the shirt? The easiest way to avoid this, is to spray in light layers and do not soak the shirt. Move the can slowly across the shirt while you are spraying and do not leave the can spraying in one spot. You can also put a piece of cardboard inside the shirt so there is a barrier between the layers.

Can you wash your fabric after using Simply Spray? Yes, you can wash Simply Spray. You should not use any type of liquid or sheet fabric softener. Fabric softener breaks down the pigments in the paint. You should wash your garments inside out. The first time you wash your garment, the excess paint will wash off the fabric. After the initial wash, you should not notice significant fading. Wait 72 hours before washing for the first time. We do not recommend dry cleaning.

Will it rub off the fabric? If you wait the full 72 hours to dry, the paint should not rub off. However, if the material you are painting is not fully absorbent, there may be excess paint that did not absorb into the fibers. You should wipe the fabric with a rag to remove any excess paint after 72 hours.

Will the paint fade in the sun? The paint should not fade in the sun if exposed to normal weather conditions. If it happens to fade over a long period of time, you can spray it back to new! You should not use any type of liquid or sheet fabric softener. Fabric softener breaks down the pigments in the paint. You should wash your garments inside out. The first time you wash your garment, the excess paint will wash off the fabric. After the initial wash, you should not notice significant fading, Will it make the fabric stiff? No, Simply Spray remains soft when it dries. After washing, you should not even feel the paint on the fabric. You can sleep on it!

This does not spray like any other spray paint I have used, why? Simply Spray has a patented spray mechanism and is designed to use specifically with our products. The trigger requires you to pull back rather than push down. The paint is not propelled by the harmful gases used in regular spray paint.

How come I needed more paint than your packaging suggests? We try our best to make a good estimate for your projects. Each can contains 2.5 fluid ounces of paint. It sounds simple, but if you use more paint on one project…that means you’ll have less paint left for the next! We give our best judgment based on our own experience.

Can I embroider or use an iron on transfer after using Simply Spray on my fabric? Yes, once your paint dries you will notice the fabric will feel soft to the touch. You can iron the fabric, screen print, or embroider it.

Do you have a paint that will glow under blacklight? At this time, the only paint that we have that works under blacklight is the Simply Spray Brite Pink.

Do you have a glow in the dark paint? No, we do not have any paint that glows in the dark.

Will Simply Spray work on furniture, like my sofa? We have a specially formulated paint, Upholstery Paint, that we developed to work with upholstery. We suggest using our Upholstery paint, but there are colors that may not be offered in the Upholstery Paint line that are offered in Simply Spray. Depending on the fabric, Simply Spray will work on upholstery. However, the Upholstery Paint has a stronger binder and if you are using Simply Spray on upholstery it might rub off. It is always best to test on a small piece of scrap fabric before proceeding. Simply Spray works best on 100% light colored fabric. Simply Spray will not cover dark fabric. You will need to apply a few coats of paint to fully cover your upholstery. The number of cans varies depending on the size of the piece of furniture. Always remember to protect your work area.

Will Simply Spray work on wood? Simply Spray will stain wood that is not finished. Apply a few coats for darker coverage. Will Simply Spray work on silk or polyester? Simply Spray will work on silk, but it will not have the same affect as it will on 100% cotton. Simply Spray will run on silk, leaving a more tie-dyed look.

Will Simply Spray work on leather or suede? Simply Spray will stain leather or suede like a dye. The leather must be able to absorb water and should not be treated with a waterproof spray.

My Simply Spray can will not spray again, what should I do?

trigger tip

You might have pulled the trigger back to hard.  If the trigger is pulled back too hard, it can stick.  Simply put your index finger behind the blue trigger and push it forward.  A "pop" or "click" should happen.  If you push on the trigger a few times, it should start spraying again. If you leave your can with the trigger out of position, the gas with seep out, rendering the can unusable. Think of the paint as a can of whipped cream… if you only pull lightly on the nozzle- the gas will seep out. Sometimes paint might build up in the nozzle after it is used. We suggest that you pick off any excess paint from the nozzle opening and then flip the can upside down and spray to clear the passage. The force of the spray should clear the way! We also suggest storing your used paints upside-down in water if you will not be using them right away.

Do I have to heat set my project? NO! One of the greatest things about Simply Spray is that it sets itself! You do not need to iron or put it in the dryer! Just wait 72 hours before washing! You can use a hair dryer to help speed up the drying process to the touch, but it will not set the paint any faster.

Can I wash my painted shirt with other garments, or will it run? The first time you wash your shirt you should wash it separately. After that, washing it with like colors is recommended. You should not use any type of liquid or sheet fabric softener. Fabric softener breaks down the pigments in the paint. You should wash your garments inside out. Wait 72 hours before washing for the first time. We do not recommend dry cleaning.

How many shirts does one can make? This is the question everyone wants to know! Depending on your use for Simply Spray you can make many projects! When making tie-dye shirts you can make about 4 adult large shirts, front & back. A little Simply Spray goes a long way! Mixing other colors also limits the amount of cans you will need! Small projects like an accent will give you endless projects! When sprayed out in one single layer, one can of Simply Spray will cover approximately 30 square feet. Keep in mind that you might want the color to be darker and more vibrant so you may want to use more than a single layer.

Can you use stencils with Simply Spray or just Stencil Spray? Yes, you can stencil with Simply Spray. It requires a little more skill than stenciling with Stencil Spray does. The paint for Stencil Spray is thicker and it sticks to the stencil allowing nice crisp edges! You should lightly spray stencil with spray glue and use and absorbent material to protect the rest of your project. To stencil with Simply Spray you should pat the top of the stencil off with a paper towel after spraying to avoid excess paint dripping. Be careful when pulling the stencil off!

How long will it take to dry? On average it will take about 30 minutes to 1 hour for your project to dry. Depending on how much paint you used it could be longer or even shorter!

Can I wear my garment without washing it? Yes, once the paint is fully dry you can wear the garment without transferring the paint to your skin.

What happens if the can freezes during shipping? Simply Spray is freeze/thaw stable. If the product freezes, it should still function when thawed.

Will the color fade or wash out after I wash it? We recommend that you wash your garment inside out to minimize fading. Also, using fabric softener in the washing machine or dryer will result in fading. The first time you wash your garment you will notice a slight fade in color, but the color will remain vibrant after many washings! You should wait 72 hours before washing.

  4. What happens if I get Stencil Spray on my skin?

  10. What happens if the can freezes during shipping?

What is the difference between Simply Spray and Stencil Spray? Simply Spray is a soft paint that blends in with the fabric so you can’t feel it when it is dry. Stencil Spray is a thick paint that sits on top of the fabric and feels like silkscreen when dry. Stencil Spray sprays in more of a stream rather than a mist due to the thickness of the paint the pressure must be higher.

How long do I have to wait between colors before I can spray the next color? Stencil Spray is a very thick paint. You should spray the paint in thin layers and allow it to dry between sprays. You should build the paint on each layer. The colors can be overlapped and you do not have to wait to spray the next color, but you might end up by using too much paint which would cause the stencil to run.

My stencil spray is spraying in a stream, is this normal? Yes, Stencil Spray is a thick paint and the pressure in the can is much higher in order to get the paint out of the can. Although the paint sprays in more of a stream, it will cover your stencil when you spray in thin layers.

What happens if I get Stencil Spray on my skin? Stencil Spray can be more difficult to get off your skin, we recommend washing with soap, water and a wash cloth right away. You can use nail polish remover with acetone to help if needed.

Can you wash a garment that has Stencil Spray on it? Yes, you can wash your garment as you would any other garment once it is completely dry. We recommend washing it inside out and not using any liquid or sheet fabric softener.

Will Stencil Spray paint rub off? The paint is permanent and will not rub off once it is on the fabric. Since it is a thick paint, you can scratch it if you used a sharp object, but it will not crack on its own. It is flexible when dry.

Will Stencil Spray work on wood? Stencil Spray works on almost any hard surface. If the surface is flat and allowed to dry fully before moving, the paint should adhere.

Will Stencil Spray work on silk or polyester? Stencil Spray will work on silk, but it will not have the same affect as it will on 100% cotton. It might run underneath the stencil and be difficult to control the paint. You should spray in very light layers, building on each layer. When dry, it is flexible, however it might prevent certain materials from stretching, such as spandex.

Will Stencil Spray work on leather? Yes, Stencil Spray will work on leather and feel like silkscreen when dry.

What happens if the can freezes during shipping? If Stencil Spray freezes, it might not spray properly or spray at all. You should avoid freezing.

  18. Can you send me a sample of the paint so I can see what it looks like before I use it?
  19. Why will the paint not absorb into my material?
  20. Can I use Simply Spray instead of Upholstery Paint?

How can I tell if the paint will work on my project? In order for the paint to work on your fabric, your fabric must be able to absorb water. The paint is water-based and will react like water would. Spray it with water- If it beads and rolls off, the paint will also roll off…if it soaks in...the paint should work. Please be sure to TEST your fabric BEFORE attempting to complete a project. Be sure your material absorbs the paint before beginning. Also, keep in mind that you must check the fabric after it is dry as well to make sure the paint fully absorbed. Make sure you are 100% happy with the results before completing your project. Do not use if paint does not absorb after normal drying time, 72 hours is recommended. Practice spraying before spraying directly onto project.

Will it work on awnings/umbrellas/outdoor furniture or other assorted outdoor material? Yes, Upholstery Paint will work on most outdoor fabric as long as the fabric can absorb water.

Will the paint fade in the sun? The paint should not fade in normal sun conditions- if for some reason it does, just reapply the paint next season.

Will it make the fabric stiff? The paint itself will not make your fabric stiff, but the fabric might hold excess paint and change the texture of the fabric. You can use a bristle brush and a rag to loosen the fibers and release the excess dried paint.

Can I paint my red couch blue? (or other assorted color combinations) In order for the paint to work properly, the material you are painting must be lighter than the color of the paint you are using. You can paint a periwinkle couch black, but you can’t paint a black couch a light color like periwinkle. The paint is not opaque so it cannot make darker colors lighter.

My couch is black and I want to paint it red, can I use the Upholstery Paint? Sorry, the paint cannot be used on a dark color such as black to make it another color, such as red. Painting the black couch with red might change the shade of the couch, but will not make the black couch red like the paint color.

Will you have a tan or a white paint? We will not have a tan or a white paint for upholstery because the paint is not opaque. It would not cover the material.

Will it rub off onto your clothing? The paint should adhere into the fabric and after 72 hours it should not rub off. If for some reason the paint rubs off, it is because there is excess paint between the fibers that did not absorb into the material. You can use a bristle brush and a dry rag to wipe the excess paint. You can also use a hair dryer to speed the drying process.

Can you wash it? Yes, you can wash as you would any other fabric. You should not use any type of liquid or sheet fabric softener. Fabric softener breaks down the pigments in the paint. Wait 72 hours before washing for the first time. We do not recommend dry cleaning.

Can I use this product indoors or does it have strong fumes? Yes, after 72 hours, you can wash the material without using fabric softener Upholstery paint is very similar to Simply Spray with a stronger binder. It is non-toxic, non-flammable and has no fume odors. The propellant in the can is very safe and is the same propellant used with food, such as whipped cream. The propellant is odorless. Occasionally you may smell a faint paint odor if you are using a large number of cans indoors. If you have sensitivities, you should use the product in a ventilated area to be on the safe side.

I am planning to use this product outdoors, will it ruin my grass if I get paint on it? We always recommend that you cover your work area. Simply Spray is not harmful if you get some on your grass, but it should be avoided. It will change the color of your grass temporarily. Simply Spray should wash off your grass when the next rain passes by.

What happens if I get Upholstery Spray on my skin? You can wash Upholstery Spray off your skin with soap, water and a wash cloth.

This does not spray like any other spray paint I have used, why? Upholstery has a patented spray mechanism and is designed to use specifically with our products. The trigger requires you to pull back rather than push down. The paint is not propelled by the harmful gases used in regular spray paint.

Can your upholstery paint be used on cellular shades? Yes, people have used Upholstery Paint on cellular shades with great success! As long as the fabric is absorbent to water, and lighter than the color paint you want to use, the paint should work.

What happens if the can freezes during shipping? Upholstery Paint is freeze/thaw stable. If the product freezes, it should still function when thawed.

Do you have any other colors available in the Upholstery Paint? At this time we have 16 colors.

If I send you a sample of fabric can you match the color? Sorry, but we don’t make custom colors.

Can you send me a sample of the paint so I can see what it looks like before I use it? We do not have samples to send. We have a PMS color chart that you can use to see the closest representation of the paint color. The Pantone Matching System (PMS) is a system shared world wide by the graphic arts industry. You should note that every computer monitor varies slightly in color. You may also get varying results on different kinds or colors of fabrics.

Why will the paint not absorb into my material? We suggest doing the water absorbency test before using the paint. Your material might be treated with a water-repellant coating. This will prevent the paint from absorbing into the material.

Can I use Simply Spray instead of Upholstery Paint? We suggest using our Upholstery paint, but there are colors that may not be offered in the Upholstery Paint line that are offered in Simply Spray. Depending on the fabric, Simply Spray will work on upholstery. However, the Upholstery Paint has a stronger binder and if you are using Simply Spray on upholstery it might rub off.
